USFA Armorers understand the importance of protecting the privacy of our website users. The information collected is used to provide services to authorized users, to improve the armory web site content, and to contact you when needed.

Certain areas of armory.usfencing.org require registration and a password for access. Information obtained from registered users of these areas and cookies may be used in those and other areas, as is described in this Policy.

What information is captured about visitors to the web site?

This web server uses an extended log file format which captures: date and time of visit, referring address (location from which a visitor comes to the site), type of Internet browser, and visitor's IP address. (Each computer that connects to the Internet is assigned a unique number, an IP address, for identification purposes). The log file does not capture a visitor's email address

Does the site ask for personal information?

The site maintains a user profile for each registered member.  Name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses and a photo are collected.

How does the USFA use the information?

Basic name and email information is required of all users and is used to identify any user created content such as comments, questions or suggestions.  Users with USFA Armorer status or above are requested to include address and telephone numbers which are shared with head techs, and the technical committee and is used to contact you in regard to your participation in USFA events.  The information is not shared with any other organization, and this information is kept separate from any other information USFA has for you. 

What happens when I leave armory.usfencing.org to visit a linked web site?

The site contains links to non-USFA entities. When you leave our site to visit one of these sites, the only information transferred to the third-party is the fact that you came from armory.usfencing.org (the referring address). This practice allows the third-party to monitor its own web site traffic, but does not provide them with any information about you. USFA is not responsible or liable for the independent privacy policies of any third-party sites. You should consult the privacy policies at those sites to determine how your information may be used.

What is a cookie?
